The Rematch Just Turned Feral: Fight From Within Announce “2 v 2”
The band that needs no introduction, but deserves one anyway. Hardworking, dedicated to the scene, with sick music to boot. Fight has built a reputation for singles that hit hard and stick around. With songs like “Talk is Cheap”, “Full Send” and "Collapse”, the boys simply don't miss. And “2 v 2” is yet another addition to the list. It’s a destructive, video game-inspired track sprinkled with hilarity and a ‘gentle’ reminder that hating never got anyone anywhere (except the Gulag).
Hailing from cold, grey Upstate New York, Fight From Within stormed onto the scene in 2021 with a brutal blend of hardcore and deathcore that immediately connected with two-steppers and pit warriors alike. Since then, the band has torn through festivals like Blue Ridge Rock Fest (rest in peace) and Inkarceration, released a full-length album, and built a reputation for unyielding live performances. Now, with the release of “2 v 2,” the gloves are officially off.
Compared to previous releases, “2 v 2” is a different animal. At the beginning, a countdown tune beeps in and out, and havoc is undeniable. The track has a weirdly addictive flow that feels ripped straight out of a fighting game soundtrack. Vocalist Micheal Hayes and co-vocalist/bassist David Pierson sound enraged, and the change in pace at around 0:58 kicks things into high gear. Chaotic but intentional, feral but with a clear direction and a plan to get there. The song is a hellish blend of furious screams and bellows, combined with ripping guitars from Tim McCullough and Christian Smith’s heart stopping drum fills.
The message is clear: you’re screwed.
What continues to impress me about Fight From Within is their refusal to adhere to the status quo. They consistently push forward into new territory, and meet each challenge with conviction, while remaining loyal to the people and sound that got them here in the first place.
The band is now headed to Texas with YUNG MOSH and Upon A Burning Body

Omen//Skye drops ‘Cry the White Lie’
Omen//Skye, known for its melodic clean vocals and razor-sharp riffs, have dropped a new banger. The Maryland metalcore ensemble is once again blending a swelling tension you can feel rattling in your skull. They manage to pull it off without losing atmosphere or depth, while maintaining a level of execution that rivals anything you might hear on the radio. Known for explosive live performances, the band pulls from both classic and new-wave metalcore while carving out a sound that’s entirely theirs. With an ever-growing catalog and momentum behind them, Omen//Skye is pushing beyond the regional scene and aiming their warships straight for the national stage.
“Cry The White Lie” is a cinematic experience, like a superhero flight scene but still aggressive. The track is built, brick by brick, on crushing riffs and a well done chorus The themes of the include self-deception, accountability, and the moment the lies we hide behind finally collapse, something we can call get behind and understand.
I felt a sense of something big and overwhelming as the song began. The eerie traffic and chatter, coupled with a symphonic, rising combination of mundane sounds of the world around you, and an ear piercing scream that captures your attention. As the song continues, you are brought back to reality in a new wave of heaviness that overtakes you.
I thoroughly enjoyed this single. It brought a mixture of feelings, provoked my mind, and encouraged my head to bang, locs flying all the while. Well done, indeed, boys.

The song is mixed and mastered by Drew Licurgo at Six:Eight Audio; distributed through Arson Theory. The band is managed by Core Collective Talent Agency.
Guillotine Gate: "Off With Their He-, Just Kidding.” Gorepig's Newest Single
Out of the gate and into the slaughter, that’s the motto of Jonesboro, Arkansas's very own Gorepig.
Picture this:
You plug in your ear buds and click on what looks to be a brand new release. Ah, deathcore, the spice of life. Then, as you think you’re about to experience monotony, something happens. An unnatural intensity courses through your veins; you find your feet moving, your fingers drumming, and suddenly you’re having your own personal circle pit in the gym, or the mall, or wherever you decided was an appropriate setting to give this single a chance. And damn, are you glad you did.
That, friends, is what it feels like to listen to Gorepig.
That, friends, is what it feels like to listen to Gorepig.
Blending nostalgic deathcore riffs and energy rich nu-metal, Gorepig has brought excitement back to the art of making music. An electrifying feeling can be experienced when giving songs like ‘Bodies in the Trough’ a listen, as well as their most recent release ‘Guillotine Gate’. This track is surreal for a variety of reasons. According to the band, they put ‘anything and everything that has ever inspired [them]” into this track. It is also the first collaborative effort featuring the band’s newest member, George; it was the match in the haystack that ignited the bond these boys now share with their new addition, and the cohesiveness of the song is a pure example of it.
Gorepig’s “Guillotine Gate” opens with a drum beat that instantly recalls an old-school nu-metal track; it truly gets your heart pumping. A rhythmic riff pours in, and immediately it’s off to the races. Cody Lambert’s tone is superb throughout the entire song; his vocals are truly frightening, in the best way possible. There’s something almost mystical about the energy created as the track progresses; the dynamic shifts and sudden drop-offs create an exciting experience that leaves nothing to be desired.
Saving Vice to Begin Tour with Resider, Roderik
Vermont metalcore ensemble Saving Vice is embarking on tour this week, and it is predicted to leave you spellbound. Joining them are New York’s rising heavy hitters Roderik alongside California’s Resider, who will be making their long-awaited East Coast debut. Both Saving Vice and Resider are on the Core Collective Talent roster, creating buzz among both staff, fans and supporters of Core.
The Dream Eater tour is poised to begin a 16 date East Coast tour in familiar haunts such as Virginia Beach, Atlanta, GA, and all the way out to Cape Girardeau, MO. Bringing their unique brand of dark, thoughtful metalcore to the masses, Saving Vice are no strangers to getting the crowds 2-stepping. After their thunderous debut in 2017, the boys haven’t let off the gas yet.
The music speaks for itself; looking back to their 2018 release, Colder Than Dark, you can hear there’s something special about these guys. Fast forward to 2020, when they released a killer album, Hello There, along with a phenomenal cover of Motionless in White’s ‘Another Life’. Looking to the future yet again, they put out Good Days, Dead Eyes, and really captured the essence of what metalcore is: a symphony of harsh, pissed off riffs and growls, mixed with easily connectable clean vocals that stick with listeners long after the song ends.
Now, their most recent release, The Shadow, is doing wonders, continuing to gain momentum and banging its way through car speakers across the country.
The band brings an almost palpable aura of electricity. You feel it, coming in the air, as Phil Collins would say (followed by “oh lord’, because you know it’s going to be a great show).
The only question left now is: which show are you hitting?
